Your Next Summer Sandal

As chunky trainers, such as the Balenciaga Triple-S, are increasingly the trend it appears that a chunky, sandal equivalent is also about to become the next big hype. Louis Vuitton cemented this as the new trend with the sandal they previewed in Paris as part of their spring summer 2018 range.

Although I do h11426227_738931876217058_869991850_nave love for the Louis Vuitton sandal it must be recognized that they definitely didn’t start this trend and that their design is infact just giving a larger audience to a sandal trend that has bubbling around in the fashion world for a little while, as an alternative to a slider. Visvim have a very similar sandal named the CHRISTO from their spring summer 2014 range which A$AP Rocky was pictured wearing in 2015. Another brand that has been creating a very similar silhouette is Suicoke who recently collaborated with Stussy to create a camouflage variation of the trend (which can be bought for £265.00 on http://www.ssense.com).

For those looking to purchase some sandals of this style I would recommend the Suicoke KAW-VS however this will still set you back around £200.00 and I’m sure there will soon be copies of the trend available on the high street. If you don’t want to wait for the high street and don’t want to be spending a lot then an American footwear company called People Footwear have a sandal called The Lennon Chiller in some amazing colour ways (https://shop.peoplefootwear.com/collections/the-lennon-chiller). Another option is of course to see if your dad has some similar dodgy sandals laying about.
